April 29, 2007 : Fire Box 29-5 The men from Providence were just crawling into bed from the rescue box when dispatch alerted Fire Box 29-5 for 957 Ellendale Drive. Providence promptly responded with Engine 292, Floodlight 293 and Truck 297 totalling 12 volunteers. Units arrived, in less than 2 minutes from dispatch, to find a one story dwelling with an attached garage fire, extending into the dwelling on side B. A working fire dispatch was transmitted, with a special call for two engines. An aggressive interior attack was initiated and kept the fire from spreading further into the dwelling. Searches were negative. F.I.D. investigated, finding the cause to be an auto fire in the garage. Engine 291, Brush 294 and Utility 298 also responded to the scene, bringing the total volunteer compliment to 22. Other units on the scene were BC1 E101 E10 E11 E17 E307 E382 T1 AU478 REH153 REH154 & REH155. Units from Providence cleared in about 3 hours. *This dwelling is the residence of members of our company. We wish them all the luck in the world during their rebuilding process. |

April 29, 2007 : Rescue Box 29-4 On April 29th, Baltimore County dispatch alerted Local Box 29-4 for a 10-50 pi at Cromwell Bridge Road and Cowpens Avenue. Engine 292 responded with 5 volunteers. While enroute to the scene, dispatch received information advising that there was entrapment, prompting them to ugrade the assignment to a Rescue Box. Truck 297 responded with 4 volunteers. The Engine arrived at the corrected location of Cromwell Bridge Road and Oakleigh Road, with a two vehicle collision and one patient trapped. Medevac was requested. The Truck arrived and began the extrication. With assistance from Squad 303, crews took the roof and rolled the dash. The patient was extricated in in less than 20 minutes, then flown to Shock Trauma. Other units on the scene were DC1 SQ303 M10 EMS1 and Trooper 1. |
