2 Alarm Apartment fire in Towson (1-14)
May 05, 2010 - On Wednesday May 5, at approximately 23:40hrs, Engine 292 was dispatched on fire box 1-14. Engine 292 responded with 6 personnel. Upon Engine 1’s arrival they advised they had heavy smoke showing and requested the working fire assignment. Engine 292 was advised by command to pick up the plug and pump the line going to Engine 1. As Engine 292 arrived at the scene command requested a second alarm and 292’s crew went to work checking the delta exposure. Floodlight 293 arrived shortly after the second alarm was pulled and assisted with ventilation and search in the fire building. After checking the delta exposure 292’s crew also assisted with ventilation and search in the fire building. During the search a firefighter from 292 fell through a hole in the floor made from the intense heat conditions. The firefighter was able to self extricate and was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Crews from 29 remained on scene for approximately 3 hours.
