2011-01-15 Child Safety Day
January 15, 2011 - Providence VFC's first "Child Safety Day" was held at the Firehouse on January 15, 2011. There were approximately 30 children that came to the firehouse and many more adults. The event was an opportunity for each child to receive a complimentary photograph/fingerprint/identification card courtesy of the New York Life Insurance Company. It was also a time to meet "Snoot" the fire dog ! To get in and on a real fire engine and ambulance. For the brave children, there was a chance to try on real fireman gear in kids sizes. Baltimore County Police Department Precinct #7 and the Baltimore County 9-1-1 Center were on hand with very useful information.
And after getting your face painted there was even a hot dog lunch and plenty of 'goodie bags' to go around !
The goal is to make this an annual event in January ! Keep an eye out for more information for a date in January 2012.
