2011-02-19 Working Fire in Perry Hall
February 19, 2011 - Third Fire in 12 hours. Firebox 55-8
February 19, 2011- While the rest of the 29 House was operating on the 10-16 working dwelling fire, E 292 was returning from a transfer detail at station 17 due to a working fire in Hereford. While returning E 292 was picked-up on the road at York and the Beltway, and alerted for firebox 55-8 on Roxburgh Ct. in Perry Hall, for the dwelling fire as the first due engine company. And for the third time in less than 12 hours Providence had yet another working fire. E 292 pulled on the street and layed a supply line from the hydrant at the bottom on the court and reported a 2 story single family with heavy fire showing through the roof. E 292 initiated an aggressive interior attack, and while doing so the roof collapsed on the crew from 292. Hurt but not broken the crew pushed on and continued with the attack and extinguished all the fire in the home, saving a majority of the house. One member from E 292 received serious but non life threatening injuries to the neck and back, and was transported to Shock Trauma.E 292 operated for approximately two hours before returning to service. In all Station 29 responded to 19 emergency calls for service including 3 working structure fires and numerous working brush as well as other events. Thanks to all who helped on a very busy day.
