2011-02-26- Installation of Officers
February 26, 2011 - On Saturday February 26, the Officers and Members gathered at the Parkville American Legion for the Installation of Officers and Awards Dinner.
The event was planned by Lieutenants Wolbert and Robertson with assistance from members Andrea Wolbert, Janice Coroneos and Lieutenant Dean Denning.
Our very own Reverend Jim Westervelt gave the invocation and Robert Murry Sr (BCoFD Station 17/Reisterstown VFC) served as the the MC. After dinner, there was a video summary of the years events, that was made by member Paul Gleitsmann with assistance from other members. The 2011 elected officers took the Oath of Office, the awards were presented (see list below). After the awards, the evening carried on with music, dancing and socializing.
Special thanks to the Brothers from Rosedale VFC # 280 for providing a fill- in crew. (Sorry that you didn't get dinner !)

Distinguished Civilian Service Award
Richard and Donna Martinek
(This award was presented by Mr and Mrs Descoteau. The Descoteau family were at home asleep several months back. Unknown to them, there was a fire in their attached garage. Their smoke detector was not working. Mr. and Mrs. Martinek were driving by and thought they saw smoke through the woods. Upon further investigation they came across the house fire on Helm Court. They quickly alerted the residents by beating on the front door and yelling "Fire". The members from Providence arrived shortly thereafter, confined the fire to the garage and rescued the family pets.)
